Days 56-58 Estancia Stay

Pitch a tent on a working cattle farm and experience traditional Argentine hospitality. Enjoy a famous asado barbecue washed down with some local red wines. Why not spend time exploring the vast pampas on horseback or maybe stop by a local school to meet the kids.

Day 59 Cordoba

Days 68-70 Bonito

The ecotourism capital of Brazil awaits at Bonito, where the list of optional activities include hiking scenic forest trails and snorkelling among colourful river fish. For even more exhilarating adventures, why not try caving, horse riding, abseiling or whitewater rafting.

Days 71-73 Pantanal

Renowned for its staggering biodiversity, the Pantanal is a vast wetland teeming with birdlife, caiman and rare mammals.

Day 74 Brotas

The tiny town of Brotas is Brazil's very own adventure sports hub. Dabble in a touch of canyoning or prepare to get splashed with some whitewater rafting.

Days 75-77 Paraty

Nuzzled by verdant green mountains and emerald waters, the Costa Verde offers some spectacular scenery. The deserted beaches are great for swimming and diving or perhaps enjoy a boat trip out to a small island.

Days 78-79 Rio de Janeiro

Get ready for the ride that is Rio de Janeiro. Brazil's former capital is a breathtaking city and the thumping heart of this pulsating country. Get moving to the rhythm of the samba and say hello to the small hours in this city that never sleeps.

    Classic Inca Trail permits are sold on a request basis only. Once deposit is paid and passport details provided, Intrepid will endeavour to secure a permit for you. If Classic Inca Trail permits are unavailable by the time you book, you will be booked on the <a href="http://www.intrepidtravel.com/pdf/inca-advisory/Community_Trek_Peru.pdf&quot;&gt; Quechua Community Trek </a> instead.

    The Classic Inca Trail closes in February to allow cleaning and restoration works. If the trek portion of your trip starts in February you will be automatically booked to hike the <a href="http://www.intrepidtravel.com/pdf/inca-advisory/Community_Trek_Peru.pdf&quot;&gt; Quechua Community Trek </a>.

    Should you choose not to hike at all, please let us know in writing at the time of booking so alternative arrangements can be made. Without this prior warning, local fees may apply.

Alternative Routes

Inca Trail permits are now sold out. However, you can opt to hike the Inca Quarry Trail - with spectacular and diverse sceneries this trek is an exceptional alternative to the very busy Inca Trail. Alternatively, travel by train through the picturesque Urubamba Valley to Aguas Calientes. Both options include a visit to Machu Picchu! Please contact us to arrange the one that suits you best!
