Day 1 Lima

Arrive in the capital of Peru, Lima - a city full of colonial buildings, great restaurants and fascinating neighbourhoods.

Day 2 Paracas/Ballestas Islands

Say goodbye to Lima and head down the coast to Paracas National Park. Set up camp and explore the park's waterways, and take a boat trip around the Ballestas Islands to see the area's unique wildlife.

Day 3 Nazca

Take the coastal road to Nazca, the home of the mysterious Nazca lines.

Day 4 Puerto Inca

Perhaps take a flight over the Nazca Lines to see them in all their glory. Visit the astonishing Chauchilla Cemetery before driving to Puerto Inca to spend the night camping on the beach.

Days 5-6 Arequipa

Travel through the stark Peruvian countryside to the ‘white city’ of Arequipa, which lies in the shadow of the El Misti Volcano.

Days 7-8 Chivay/Colca Canyon

Slip into some luscious thermal springs, view the mighty condor flying high above the Colca Canyon and meet local communities that live in this startling region.

Day 9 Raqchi Homestay

Spend the night at a homestay in Raqchi, getting to know a local family and sharing a night of food, song and dance.

Days 10-11 Cuzco

Journey to the famed Peruvian city of Cuzco, set high up in the mountains. Spend time among the cobblestone streets, archaeological ruins and Spanish-colonial architecture or do a spot of shopping at the local markets or eat at one of the many excellent restaurants that are dotted throughout the city.

Days 12-15 Classic Inca Trail/Quechua Community Trek/Ollantaytambo

Embark on a thrilling trek into the Andes along the one of the ancient Inca trails. Traipse through traditional Quechua villages, spot llamas grazing in the mountains and marvel at the landscapes of this never-to-be-forgotten region.

Days 16-17 Machu Picchu/Cuzco

Stand in awe at the ruins of Machu Picchu and spend time discovering the significance behind this very special place. Once curiosity is sated, head back through the breathtaking Sacred Valley to Cuzco by train.

Day 18 Puno

Spot the ancient funerary towers of Sillustani rising from the windswept antiplano. Spend the night in Puno, located on the shores of Lake Titicaca.

Day 25 Livichuco

Overnight in the Andean village of Livichuco and experience an area of Bolivia few tourists get to see.

Days 25-26 Potosi

Days 27-28 Uyuni/Salar de Uyuni

Inca Trail permits are now sold out. However, you can opt to hike the Inca Quarry Trail - with spectacular and diverse sceneries this trek is an exceptional alternative to the very busy Inca Trail.
