Day 1 Lima
Arrive in South America and get acquainted with the charm, culture and sophistication of Lima on a guided orientation tour.

Day 2 Cuzco
Travel to Cuzco, the continents oldest continuously inhabited city and home to the Incas for two centuries before the Spanish built their capital here. Get a feel for local life, learn to love coca tea and discover how history continues to live on in magical Cuzco.

Day 3 Sacred Valley/Ollantaytambo
The Sacred Valley is a rich, fertile landscape and a great place to see charming villages, brightly dressed locals and lots of llamas. Spend the night in the ancient town of Ollantaytambo, built in the late 15th century.

Days 4-7 Inca Trail/Machu Picchu
Trek the iconic Inca Trail and be awestruck when you watch the historic ruins of Machu Picchu emerge from the mist.

Day 1 Cuzco
Welcome to Peru! Get acquainted with the intriguing blend of Inca and Spanish cultures and discover some of Cuzco's lesser-known sights on a guided walking tour. Take the opportunity to taste unique mate de coca (coca tea).

Day 2 Sacred Valley/Ollantaytambo
Travel through the lush Sacred Valley and visit a local community. Learn about their traditional lifestyle, browse handicrafts and pick up a few words of the Quechua language. Look out for the maize crops alongside the river and covering the terraces that stretch high up the valley walls. Spend the night exploring the Ollantaytambo ruins - a magnificent example of Inca urban planning.

Day 8 Cuzco
Recover from the hike in busy Cuzco. In Peru, it is only fitting to do as the Peruvians do so why not celebrate the journey with a Pisco sour. The famed drink, made with a clear local brandy mixed with egg white and lemon, is a little bit of tangy and a whole lot of tasty!

Days 9-10 Amazon Jungle
Travel up the moody Amazon River in a motorised canoe to an eco-friendly jungle lodge. Fall asleep to the chorus of nocturnal creatures and wake to exotic birdcalls. Take a guided walking tour through the jungle and learn about the Amazon rainforest's exotic wildlife and indigenous inhabitants, as well as the medicinal properties and practical uses of native jungle plants.

Days 11-12 Lima
Back in Lima and it's time to peruse local handicrafts in the Mercado del Indios. Perhaps celebrate the end of the amazing Inca Trail and Amazon adventure with a seafood dinner in Miraflores or a night out on the town.
