Day 1 Lima

Arrive in Lima, a city steeped in fascinating history and filled to the brim with some of South America’s most beautiful architecture. Perhaps arrive early and walk the cobbled streets, soak up the ambience of the colonial buildings or peruse ornate churches and palaces.

Days 2-4 Cuzco

Take a short flight to Cuzco before taking a guided walk around the city centre to marvel at imposing colonial cathedrals, time-worn palaces and buzzing city squares. Enjoy a thrilling rafting adventure on the Urubamba River.

Day 5 Sacred Valley

Touring Peru's countryside, visit the small town of Pisac, located in the Sacred Valley. Hone bargaining skills at a colourful market and perhaps pick up a hand-crafted souvenir.

Day 6 Chinchero

Get acclimatised to the heights of the Andes with a short trek to the village of Chincero for a local homestay. Along the way, keep an eye out for colourful birdlife, including parrots and hummingbirds.

Day 7 Ollantaytambo

Warm up those legs for the Inca Trail trek with a mountain bike adventure through the beautiful Andean countryside. After a day spent peddling alongside the spectacular Urabamba mountains, rest up in the ancient town of Ollantaytambo.

Days 8-11 Inca Trail/Machu Picchu

Embark on a memorable trek along Peru's iconic Inca Trail. Climb high mountain passes, through green valleys and cloud forests to reach the majestic ancient wonder of Machu Picchu. With the help of an experienced guide, spend time exploring this fascinating archaeological site and imagining what life was like for the people who lived here centuries ago. Afterwards,

Days 12-13 Cuzco

Spend some more time exploring Machu Picchu before reflecting on the adventure on the train journey back to Cuzco and saying farewell to magical Peru.
