Try to learn as many Spanish words as you can. Locals are very friendly, but also shy, so you'll need to make plenty of effort to break the ice. Attempting to communicate in Spanish is a great way of showing you care.

Wonderful trip! Make sure you bring a rain jacket. The rain and storms contributed to the magic of the trip. Lots of free time but lots of wonderful activities to participate in - bring extra money for the amazing additional activities (also, trust your guide, all of their recommendations are spot on). Thanks, Jaime!

Intrepid is the best tour company I've worked with. Groups are under 12 people-so you're with people who really want to get close to the places they visit, itineraries are interesting and relative, and the guides (that are from the countries and speak the language) are invaluable. This was my 14th trip and I will definitely be traveling with them again.
