Tell us about you
Have been travelling around the world since I was a kid as my family moved around a lot. Have lived in England, Switzerland, Canada and I’m always looking to make the list larger. Worked in Sport Development until I got the travel bug and needed to travel more often.
Favourite travel destination and why
Canada because I love the people, the scenery and snowboarding. I spent two years there working on Silver Star resort and had to force myself to see the rest of the world because I loved it there so much.
How many countries have you visited?
I have been to somewhere in the mid to late 20s
Most recent adventure
South America. I went through Chile, Argentina, Peru and Bolivia. Sunrise at Machu Picchu was mind blowing! South America has it all and a month was no where near long enough. We went in winter to try and fit some snowboarding and ended up not having enough time to go to any mountains with all the sites we went to.
Best travel memory
Great memories of road trips with friends through British Columbia packed into a car in search of snow. Leaving before the sun comes up to get a whole day in at a new mountain and trying to stretch the budget as far as possible.
Best travel tips
Always have a multi-tool in your checked luggage because you never know when you are going to need to make some repairs. Take a phrase book to non-english speaking countries and make the effort to speak to local language.
Favourite food experience
The food markets in Bangkok when I was 12 because I remember the spices and the crowds. It was unlike anything I had ever seen and the food was amazing!
Any advice for people considering embarking on the trip of a lifetime
Set aside as much time as possible when travelling and get to know the locals! The trip is what you make it and the more you put yourself out there the more you will get to know the real destination and enjoy yourself.
Which country is next on your list to experience and why
Vietnam, for the scenery, the culture and the people.
