Take time out in this pretty little town situated on the shores of Lake Te Anau - New Zealand's second largest lake. Enjoy a spot of hiking amid the surrounding wilderness or simply relax by the water.
Travel through Fiordland National Park to magnificent Milford Sound for an unforgettable boat tour. Pass sheer cliffs, gushing waterfalls and perhaps even spot dolphins, seals and penguins before continuing to Queenstown. Resting in the shadows of New Zealand's majestic Southern Alps, this alpine town is a haven for travellers and boasts an abundance of things to do. For the adventurous, skiing, hiking, jet boating, whitewater rafting, bungee jumping, mountain biking and fishing are all on offer in Queenstown. Those seeking a more relaxed pace will delight in nearby forest walks and wineries. Enjoy high country hospitality during a cruise on Lake Wakatipu and take a scenic drive past Lake Wanaka and through Haast Pass to spend a night at Lake Matheson.
Head south along the spectacular coast to Fox Glacier. Hike through temperate rainforest then step into crampons to traverse the glacier's crevasses and ice ridges. Stay overnight by the ocean in Punakaiki, nestled into the foothills of the Paparoa National Park.
Be impressed by blowholes and the curious Pancake Rocks on a morning exploration of the wild West Coast area. Travel past vast, blue lakes to Nelson, the South Island's second largest city, known for its wineries, breweries and its energetic local artistic community.
Enjoy free time to explore one of New Zealand's most beautiful regions. Abel Tasman National Park is renowned for its golden beaches and sculptured granite cliffs. Perhaps take a guided sea kayak, hit a walking trail, shop for arts and crafts or sample the area's world-famous wines.
