Day 1 Kathmandu

Travel to Nepal and visit Kathmandu. A vibrant travellers' centre for many years, Kathmandu offers a compelling blend of religious sites and modern delights. For those who arrive early, take the time to explore Durbar Square or visit the cheeky residents of the ‘Monkey Temple’ of Swayambhunath.

Day 2 Syabrubensi

Travel on rugged roads above the Trisuli River to Syabrubensi, the trailhead for treks into the Langtang Valley.

Day 3 Langtang Khola

Rich in flora and home to the elusive red panda, the Langtang region is a stunning area to explore. To begin, the trek covers a steep trail that becomes a more gradual incline as it follows the gorge of the Lantang Khola.

Day 4 Langtang Village

As we ascend through the forest to the village of Langtang, surrounded by fields of wheat, buckwheat and potatoes, along with grazing yaks and cattle.

Days 5-6 Kyanjin Gompa

Glimpse spectacular mountain views on the way to Kyanjin Gompa, surrounded by the impressive peaks of Langtang Lirung and Kyimoshung with their huge glaciers tumbling to the valley floor.

Day 7 Lama Hotel

Retrace steps along the river back through Langtang to spend a night in the forest.

Day 8 Syabru

Cross the Langtang Khola bridge on the way up to Syabru.

Day 9 Sing Gompa

Pass through magnificent rhododendron thickets to the small monastery at Sing Gompa located at the top of a ridge.

Day 10 Gosainkund Lake

Enjoy fantastic panoramic views of the mountains on the way to the sacred lake of Gosainkund said to have been created by the god Shiva. Spend the night in a pilgrim shelter watching the sunset reflect on the lake.

Day 11 Laurebena Pass

Climb through bare and rugged terrain, past some small lakes and through rhododendron forest enjoying superb panoramic vistas along the way.

Days 12-13 Helambu Valley

Get ready for two long days of walking through the Helambu valley. Walk through well-maintained Sherpa villages and forests of giant Himalayan oak to the summit of the ridge, from which there is a magnificent view of the Himalaya - Annapurna in the west, Everest in the east.

Days 14-15 Kathmandu

Rise early and take a final walk back to the roadhead at Sundarijal for a transfer back to Kathmandu, where there is time for a final feast to celebrate this adventure to Langtang. Why not stay on longer for more sightseeing or a spot of shopping.
