Begin this long weekend walking adventure in beguiling Marrakech. Spice-filled labyrinthine streets and a carnival atmosphere makes this Moroccan city a delight to explore.

Leave the city behind and drive to the lush village of Imlil. Then it’s time to strap on walking shoes for the first time and walk to the traditional Berber village of Armoud. Refuel with lunch before taking to mule tracks and spending the afternoon walking through the stunning mountain scenery of the Ait Mizan Valley. If there’s time, visit the rocky environs of Marabout of Sidi Chamharouch before continuing on to spend the night at the Neltner Hut at Toubkal Base Camp. Enjoy a sky-high dinner at 3,207 m above sea level and make sure to look skywards once the sun goes down for a stunning star-filled sky.

The morning starts with an ascent over rocky paths to 4,000 metres - the panoramic views over the valleys and mountains at this height are truly breathtaking. Descend to the Netler Refuge for lunch before continuing the climb down back to Aroumd. Rest weary feet in the evening in a traditional gite.

It’s time to farewell Mt Toubkal this morning and it’s only a small walk to the vehicle that takes the group back to Marrakech. Spend the afternoon seeing more sights of this incredible city - perhaps explore the astonishing Djemma el Fna or visit the architectural wonders of the Palais Baha.
