Days 2-3 Aroumd

Watch the snow-covered peaks of the High Atlas emerge in the distance as you leave the chaos of Marrakech’s medina behind. Travel to Imlil and take a short walk to the village of Aroumd. Days 4-5 Neltner Hut/Mt Toubkal Summit

Head for North Africa’s highest peak – Mt Toubkal. This is a challenging 2-day hike and at 4167 m, reaching the top is quite an achievement. Walk to base camp at Neltner Hut then set off for the summit early the next morning. After scrambling up the steep final climb, be rewarded with some spectacular views of the entire Atlas range, before descending back to Neltner for the night.

Days 6-8 Marrakech

Walk back to Imlil and return to Marrakech. Polish up your bargaining skills and hit the souqs - from leather goods, pottery and carpets, to woodwork, jewellery and fragrant spices, it’s a beautiful madness that swallows you whole. Escape the bazaar for a few hours to discover Marrakech’s other attractions: the Bahai Palace, the Saadian tombs or perhaps the tropical gardens at Jardin Majorelle. Return to the square before dusk to watch the Djemaa el-Fna transform into a foodie’s delight.
