Mount Toubkal Trek Itinerary
Day 1 Marrakech
Follow Marrakech’s ancient medina lanes and uncover souqs, mosques and riads. Sip on freshly brewed mint tea or taste a classic tajine, flavoured with traditional Moroccan spices.

Days 2-3 Aremd
Watch the snow-covered peaks of the High Atlas emerge in the distance as you leave the chaos of Marrakech’s medina behind. Experience a slice of Berber culture while staying at a typical Berber house in the village of Aremd.

Days 4-5 Neltner
Set off for North Africa’s highest peak – Mt Toubkal. At 4167 m, reaching the summit is quite the achievement. And after scrambling up the final climb, be rewarded by some extensive views of the entire Atlas range, before descending to Neltner for the night.

Days 6-8 Marrakech
Return to Marrakech, polish up your bargaining skills and hit the souqs. From leather goods, pottery and carpets, to woodwork, jewellery and fragrant spices, it’s a beautiful madness that swallows you whole. Escape the bazaar for a few hours to discover Marrakech’s other attractions: the Bahai Palace, the Saadian tombs or perhaps the tropical gardens at Jardin Majorelle. Return to the square before dusk to watch the Djemaa el-Fna transform into a foodie’s delight.

Mount Toubkal Trek , May 2014
Excellent. We had a great time. Loved seeing a more rural perspective of Morocco and the trekkin gto get to base camp was spread out making it very pleasant walking.
