With a bustling old medina, Art-Deco buildings, contemporary art galleries and one of Africa's biggest ports, Casablanca is a city of all ages.
Fes is the most complete medieval city in the Arab world. The most ancient of Morocco's imperial cities, it exists suspended in time.
With a history of mining and agriculture, Midelt is a picturesque town nestled between the High and Middle Atlas mountains with many lovely, sand-coloured buildings.
With the backdrop of the orange-coloured Erg Chebbi sand dunes, the small Saharan village of Merzouga feels like the modern world has left it behind, charmingly so.
Watch the sunrise over the desert from your camel’s back, then head by car to Todra Gorge, a massive trench that towers 250 meters high. It is a beautiful natural wonder of Morocco, best explored by foot. Along the winding roads towards the Dades Valley there is a chance to photograph the amazing scenery, before arriving in the M’goun Valley. Kick off your stay here with a hike through the surrounding Berber villages. If you are lucky, you may be invited into a Berber house for a cup of mint tea, then head back to town for an overnight stay in a traditional Berber house.
Sitting on a hilltop and looking unchanged since the 11th century, Ait Benhaddou is one of Morocco's most treasured, alluring and iconic sites.
Marrakech is a feast for the senses. Be enticed by the alluring scents and brilliant colours of the spice markets, the sounds of the musicians and the perfume of its gardens.

We were surprised by the diversity in environments in Morocco and loved this aspect of the trip. We had a great time and learned so much. We loved traveling with Lahcen! He was a great leader, even when dealing with some challenging situations with a few folks on our trip. In particular, there was one traveler who spoke to him in an abusive manner, and I was amazed that he did not lose his cool with her, while still keeping his authority in place. (BTW, this person was not the kind of person that you want on these kinds of trips, and I hope that you have a process in place around this and that you will hear about her from Lahcen). Anyway, Lahcen was great - fun, informative, relaxed but alert, very kind and good about checking in when any of us weren't feeling well, etc.
