Itinerary

Travel to Morocco's economic capital, Casablanca, and discover an intriguing mix of old and new. Take a stroll to admire the striking colonial buildings, modern mosques and Art Deco architecture of this much romanticised destination.
Enjoy a guided tour of the impressive Hassan II Mosque - a truly awe-inspiring architectural feat. In the afternoon, travel to Meknes by train and see the ambitious building project of Sultan Moulay Ismail. Severely damaged by an earthquake, the remnants of the royal compound give an insight into the wild ways of this ruler.
Step back into ancient history as you tread in the footsteps of the Romans at the ancient hilltop city of Volubilis. Continue north through sprawling Moroccan valleys, to arrive at the blue-hued Chefchaouen, cradled gently in a fold of the Rif Mountains.
Explore a labyrinth of alleyways and feast on local delicacies in the ancient medina of Fes.
Look out for Barbary apes and nomadic shepherds on the scenic journey between the Middle and High Atlas mountain ranges. Pay a visit to Kasbah Myriam, a carpet and embroidery workshop that employs local women.
Journey through lush valleys dotted with date palms en route to the mighty Sahara Desert. Make like Lawrence of Arabia and embark on a camel ride into the distance to watch the sunset over the shifting sands of the cinnamon-red Erg Chebbi dunes.
Marvel at the towering limestone cliffs of Morocco's famous Todra Gorge before the journey continues to Dades Gorge via a series of spectacular hairpin bends.
This ancient medina of Ait Benhaddou has had many cameo roles in some of Hollywood’s favourites, so take in the view of this epic World Heritage site. Work up an appetite exploring this grand Kasbah, before learning the secrets of creating Moroccan cuisine at a cooking demonstration.
The throng of Marrakech is the ultimate Moroccan experience. Traditional music echoes through the spice markets, and the scent of beautiful tagines drifts across the Djemaa el Fna. Like a fairytale from an Arabian Night’s story, Marrakech is full of Morocco's trademark colour and energy, and will leave you hankering to return.
