Morocco Encompassed Itinerary

Get acquainted with the distinct architecture and European flavour of the most famed city in Morocco, Casablanca. For those who arrive early, head to Hassan II Mosque - one of the largest mosques in the world - or take it easy with a glass of sweet mint tea in one of the many great cafes.

Travel from Casablanca to Rabat and see monuments spanning the history of Morocco, including the delightful Kasbah des Oudaias, on a walk through the city's old quarter. Spend the night in the sacred hilltop town of Moulay Idriss. Once forbidden to non-Muslims, the picturesque medina offers an excellent insight into traditional Moroccan life.

Discover remarkable mosaics on a tour of the Volubilis ruins then see the imposing gates and walls of Meknes. Take a step back to the Middle Ages in the city of Fes, considered the cultural and religious centre of Morocco. For an evocative walk, head to the atmospheric Fes medina to wander through the maze-like alleyways.

Nestled between two peaks in the Rif Mountains, charming Chefchaouen is the perfect place to relax. Spend time here admiring the blue-washed houses, shopping for unique handicrafts in the medina or simply sitting in a cafe, watching the world go by. Travel to Morocco's northern coast town of Tangier and perhaps indulge in fresh seafood before making the final journey to Marrakech aboard an overnight train.

The North Morocco Adventure finishes back amongst the sights, scents and sounds of Marrakech. Tantalise senses with a walk around the city's main square and rub shoulders with crowds of visitors and locals alike.

Stay in a mountain gite with incredible views while exploring the High Atlas Mountains. Hike to the burial place of a medieval saint.

Climb aboard a 4x4 for an epic trip out to the Erg Chigaga sand dunes. Look out for the incredible sight of goats climbing argan trees on the way to the bustling market town of Taroudannt. Take to the souqs and haggle with local traders for silver jewellery or colourful Moroccan ceramics and mosaics.

Travel to the seaside gem of Essaouira and discover a variety of active or relaxing things to do. Essaouira's old medina is a fascinating place to explore with a local guide, or perhaps take the opportunity to relax by the beach or browse the bubbly markets.

Farewell the beach and head from Essaouira to Marrakech. Once again, get lost in the mayhem of the souqs or seek out Majorelle Gardens to relax in a tropical oasis.
