Day 2 Chichen Itza
Discover the secrets of the Maya and explore the mysterious ruined city of Chichen Itza with an expert guide. Be awed by the magnificence of El Castillo, the stepped pyramid constructed to show the serpent god Kukulkan 'crawling' down its steps at equinox. Admire the detailed, gruesome carvings and hieroglyphs that adorn the crumbling temples, ball courts and ritual centres, and be amazed by the Maya's level of scientific and astronomical knowledge. In the afternoon, cool off with a refreshing dip in the pool at the hacienda.

Look out for flocks of pink flamingos, hornbills, as well as crocs, and turtles. Relax on the beach after the cruise, or explore the quaint local fishing village.
