Day 1 Cancun

Once an unknown fishing village, Cancun is now a heaving tourist centre with plenty of bars, restaurants, resorts and nightclubs to contrast the beautiful white-sand beaches.

Day 2 Chichen Itza

Chichen Itza was once a city of the pre-Columbian Maya civilisation; its ruins are wonderfully preserved and this captivating site provides a wealth of things to see.

Days 3-5 Merida

Founded in 1542, Merida still retains much of its old-world charm with a well-preserved Old Town, wonderful museums and city streets alive with art and culture.

Day 6 Uxmal

Adorned with serpents, masks and lattice work, the Maya ruins at Uxmal are remarkable - and it's possible to climb the staircases to access certain inner chambers.

Day 7 Uxmal/Valladolid

With a small-town feel and some lovely historical buildings, Valladolid is a colourful city with a unique cuisine and great local crafts.

Day 8 Cancun

There's always something to do in action-packed Cancun, whether its relaxing on beaches, swimming in aquamarine waters or getting in among the crowds and enjoying the bustling atmosphere.
