Add to Shortlist

Day 1 Kota Kinabalu

An intriguing city between the Borneo jungle and the South China Sea, Kota Kinabalu has a charm that can only be found in a frontier town.

Day 2 Dusun Village

The Dusun people are wonderfully warm and friendly - experience their traditional way of life at a picturesque village nestled in the shadow of Mt Kinabalu.

Days 3-4 Mt Kinabalu

Featuring beautiful nature trails and diverse flora and fauna, Kinabalu National Park encompasses the lowland tropical forest surrounding the imposing peak of Mt Kinabalu.

Days 5-6 Poring Hot Springs

Warm sulphur water is piped into several open-air Japanese-style baths at Poring Hot Springs, which are said to have curative properties for the skin.

Day 7 Kinabatangan River

Located in a small village on the Kinabatangan River, our hosts are the local ecological organisation, MESCOT, whose aim is to provide villagers with environmental education.

Day 8 Sandakan

The busy city of Sandakan has a strong Cantonese influence which is evident in the lively harbourside market, the many Chinese temples and the local cuisine.

Day 9 Turtle Island

Swim, snorkel or laze about on the idyllic Turtle Island, where green turtles come ashore to lay their eggs every night of the year.

Day 10 Sepilok Orangutan Reserve

Set in lush tropical rainforest, the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre was established to prepare domesticated or orphaned orangutans to return to the wild.

Days 11-12 Kota Kinabalu

Sabah's historic capital, Kota Kinabalu has interesting museums to explore and the surrounding beaches and islands are perfect for swimming or snorkelling.
