Day 1 Kuching

The historic home of the infamous White Raja of Sarawak, Kuching is rich in architecture and its waterfront houses a wealth of curio shops and local food markets.

Day 2 Bako National Park

Featuring an amazing diversity of natural landscapes, Bako National Park has rainforest, abundant wildlife, jungle streams, waterfalls, interesting plant life, secluded beaches and trekking trails.

Day 3 Kuching

Arguably the most pleasant city in Malaysian Borneo, Kuching offers many Chinese-influenced hawker markets and a delicious range of local seafood.

Day 4 Iban Longhouse

Rich with local life, the Rajang River is dotted with the traditional longhouses of the friendly Iban people amazing history and culture.

Days 5-7 Mulu National Park

One of the most spectacular national parks in Asia, Gunung Mulu National Park is home to an extensive cave system, all set in a steamy jungle.

Day 8 Headhunters' Trail/Limbang

Running through an isolated area of the Borneo jungles, the infamous Headhunters' Trail was once an historical route taken by warring parties between the Tutoh and Limbang rivers. Sandwiched between the two parts of Brunei, Limbang is small administrative centre with a pleasant atmosphere on the banks of the Limbang River.

Day 9 Survivor Island

Try a soak in a mud bath or relax on the island’s gorgeous beaches.

Days 10-11 Kota Kinabalu

Sabah's historic capital, Kota Kinabalu has interesting museums to explore and the surrounding beaches and islands are perfect for swimming or snorkelling.

Day 12 Dusun Village

The Dusun people are wonderfully warm and friendly - experience their traditional way of life at a picturesque village nestled in the shadow of Mt Kinabalu.

Days 13-14 Mt Kinabalu

Featuring beautiful nature trails and diverse flora and fauna, Kinabalu National Park encompasses the lowland tropical forest surrounding the imposing peak of Mt Kinabalu.

Days 15-16 Poring Hot Springs

Warm sulphur water is piped into several open-air Japanese-style baths at Poring Hot Springs, which are said to have curative properties for the skin.

Day 17 Kinabatangan River

Located in a small village on the Kinabatangan River, our hosts are the local ecological organisation, MESCOT, whose aim is to provide villagers with environmental education.

Day 18 Sandakan

The busy city of Sandakan has a strong Cantonese influence which is evident in the lively harbourside market, the many Chinese temples and the local cuisine.

Day 19 Turtle Island

Swim, snorkel or laze about on the idyllic Turtle Island, where green turtles come ashore to lay their eggs every night of the year.

Day 20 Sepilok Orangutan Reserve

Set in lush tropical rainforest, the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre was established to prepare domesticated or orphaned orangutans to return to the wild.

Days 21-22 Kota Kinabalu
