I have a passion for travelling and the Intrepid brand epitomises the type of travel I enjoy most. When I go on holiday, I want to have an adventure.

I did a 2-month trip with Intrepid in Africa overlanding from Cape Town to Nairobi. It was the trip of a lifetime! Imagine going to sleep to the grunting of hippos in Botswana or hearing lions roaring in the distance in the Serengeti - amazing! From Africa I headed over to Canada to do a ski season and then work in the most beautiful town in the Rocky Mountains, Banff. It was one extreme to the other! The Rockies are stunning and I loved hiking, kayaking and wildlife spotting (including bears!).

 

Trekking up the Virunga Mountains in Rwanda to visit the Mountain Gorillas. However, a beautiful male lion sitting next to our jeep in the Serengeti is a very close second.

Don’t keep your money all in one place, separate it into different bags and hiding spots. Photocopy your passport and other important documents and keep one in a different bag to your originals and one at home. 

 

After a day visiting the Musee d’Orsay in Paris I had an afternoon tea of Chocolate Moullex with pistachio ice-cream and raspberry coulis.

 

Keep an open mind -  expect the unexpected and embrace it.
