Get to know the calmest capital city in the world by wandering the crowd and traffic free streets of Vientiane Scour the market for bargains or wander the gilded Pha That Luang. When bellies rumble, dine at the Intrepid Foundation-supported Makphet Restaurant, a local business that provides education and training to street kids in Vientiane.

Head north to the backpacker mecca of Vang Vieng. Chill out riverside or hire a bike and explore nearby caves.

See why travellers can't help but fall in love with the ornate temples, colourful markets and quaint colonial streets of Luang Prabang. Peruse a local arts museum then take a jumbo, Laos’s version of a tuk-tuk, out to Kuang Si Falls for a refreshing dip.

Fly to the sleepy southern town of Pakse and take a drive up into the Bolaven Plateau, stopping by local coffee plantations and dramatic waterfalls. Continue to Tat Lo and learn about the various ethnic groups that call this area home.

Return to the mighty Mekong, visiting the ancient Khmer ruin of Wat Phu before catching a boat to Don Daeng for an island homestay. From feasting on fresh fruit to enjoying a delicious home cooked meal - experience Laos hospitality at its finest.

Leaving our homestay, we continue on to explore the Khon Pha Pen waterfall, before crossing the border into Cambodia to explore the riverside town of Kratie.
