Intrepid's 7th Annual Tree Planting
You're invited to come and join Intrepid travellers and Intrepid staff to plant trees and shrubs at a beautiful location along the banks of the Yarra River in Kew. This gorgeous location (near where we also planted in 2007) is along the north bank of the Yarra River downstream from Dights Falls.
Purpose: To re-establish indigenous vegetation on the banks of the Yarra River, replacing recently removed exotic vegetation.
When: Sun, 31st Aug, 2008, from 10am to approximately 2-3pm.
Where: An area of river bank and slopes in Kew between Dights Falls and Studley Park Road. Melway Reference 2D B7. This is upstream from Collingwood Children's Farm and the Abbotsford Convent.
Access: Via Studley Park Road, Kew. Enter gate on North side of Studley Park Road approximately 50 metres uphill from the Johnston Street Bridge and park on bitumen roadway. Overflow parking on the Yarra Boulevard at Mel 2D D8. Follow signs and flags along dirt track to planting site about 250 metres to the north west.
RSVP: Please book via this web-site, telling us how many people are coming, for catering purposes.
We'll provide: Tools, lots of seedlings, fresh air and a yummy BBQ lunch (vegetarians catered for).
Please bring: Gardening gloves, sturdy footwear, a spade if you have (we'll have a few) and a water bottle.
