Set out for the vast plains of the Samburu region. Spend two days searching out animals on game drives in vehicles built for six, exploring the grassy savanna of Meru National Park.

Head west to visit the vast Lake Nakuru National Park in the heart of the Rift Valley. Lake Nakuru is justly famous for its visiting flocks of flamingos, pelicans, terns and cormorants, but there are plenty of land-dwelling animals as well. Rare Rothschild's giraffe and both black and white rhino can be spotted within the park's boundaries.

The iconic Masai Mara is one of Africa's most famous reserves and its sweeping plains play host to buffaloes, gazelles and various other herbivores. In turn, these well-fed creatures are prey for lions, leopards, cheetahs and other stealthy predators.

Return to Nairobi's urban sprawl for a final night of Kenyan chaos before this memorable trip winds up.
