Enjoy day walks and sightseeing on the magnificent Sorrentino Peninsula

The Amalfi Coast is one of the most dramatic and beautiful coastlines in Europe. Mountains rise steeply out of the Mediterranean far below and picturesque towns nestle neatly in isolated coves. While walking along the Amalfi Coast, follow mule tracks and old paths through hillside villages, lemon groves and beautiful deep gorges. Descend from a picturesque rural base on the Agerola Plain to the towns with their narrow streets, whitewashed buildings and fascinating churches, monasteries and cathedrals. Away from the trails there is plenty of time to partake in the traditional Amalfi pastimes of sampling incredible food and wine, as well as enjoying the Mediterranean climate.

  • Enjoy fantastic walks including the 'Walk of the Gods', one of the world's finest day walks
  • Visit the stunning coastal towns of Amalfi, Ravello and Positano
  • Explore Pompeii, the world's most visited archaeological site
  • Take a boat trip along the Amalfi coast
  • Sample the sumptuous Italian cuisine

Walking The Amalfi Coast Summary

Add to Shortlist

Day 1 Bomerano

A land of rocky coasts, cliff-top vistas, azure seas and bright blue skies, the Amalfi Coast has picturesque towns and dramatic trails to explore.

Day 2 Monte Tre Calli/Bomerano

A short but spectacular climb from Bomerano, the top of Monte Tre Calli offers breathtaking 360-degree views across the Agerola Plain and along the coast to Capri.

Day 3 Amalfi/Bomerano

A popular tourist destination since the British upper classes began wintering here in Edwardian times, the town of Amalfi is dominated by its impressive cathedral.

Day 4 Pompeii/Bomerano

Destroyed by the eruption of Mt Vesuvius 2,000 years ago, the ruins of ancient Pompeii are a time capsule quite unlike any other ruined city in the world.

Day 5 Valle delle Ferriere N.P./Bomerano

The hillsides behind the coast are an enchanting mix of quaint farmhouses, terraced vegetable patches, chestnut groves, rocky paths and lush woodland.

Day 6 Bomerano

A quiet village located high above the Amalfi Coast, Bomerano has the benefit of being close to the beaches, but cooler and less busy than towns by the sea.

Day 7 Positano/Bomerano

An almost vertical town of colourful buildings reached by a network of ancient paths and tracks, Positano has beautiful views across the Mediterranean.

Day 8 Bomerano

This region is home to a vibrant food culture so it's an excellent place to sample delicious local produce - fresh seafood, mozzarella, olive oil, wine and limoncello.
