Discover southern Italy's enigmatic Puglia region
Travel to the little-known area of Puglia, southern Italy's dramatically beautiful region bordering the Adriatic and Ionian seas. Awash with Roman ruins, medieval towns, remarkable architecture and jagged coastlines that drop sharply into cerulean seas, Puglia will entice and captivate. Swoon in delight while indulging in rustic local cuisine, enjoy a wine or two from this prolific wine growing region and immerse yourself in this friendly and resplendent part of Italy.

Discover Puglia Summary
Add to ShortlistDay 1 Bari
Puglia's prosperous seaside capital, the tangled streets of Bari's charming old town reveal Romanesque churches, a riotous market and elegant medieval piazzas.
Day 2 Matera
One of the oldest cities in existence, the extraordinary sight of Matera's sassi - stone houses formed from natural grottoes - give a haunting insight into ancient life.
Day 3 Alberobello
The quaint town of Alberobello is home to the beehive-shaped trulli: small, dry-stone houses built from local limestone which are unique to this area of Puglia.
Days 4-5 Lecce
Baroque ornamentation is elevated to dizzying heights in Leece. Roman ruins and magnificent allegories dancing across ornate facades present visitors with a feast for the senses.
Days 6-7 Polignano/Trani
Built on rocky cliffs which rise dramatically from the blue waters of the Adriatic, the small town of Polignano boasts a wealth of sights thanks to its ancient settlement and history of invasion.
With a stunning seaside cathedral, medieval streets and its own, sweet wine, Trani is truly like stepping back into a 1950s movie set.
Days 8-9 Naples
With its heritage-listed historical centre and fascinating Archeological Museum, Naples's extraordinary history is obvious - plus it's home to some of the best pizza Italy has to offer.
