On a walking tour, be amazed by the sights, sounds and smells of Old Delhi and stop by Delhi's oldest mosque, the impressive Jama Masjid, which is capable of holding 25,000 people.
Journey on the 'toy train' as it snakes its way up the mountain to the colonial town of Shimla, where British viceroys once gathered to escape monsoonal heat.
Sitting on the banks of the Beas River, Mandi was once on the salt trading route to Tibet. Explore the riverside temples and ghats and get a taste of imperial life staying in a palace of the former Raj.
Travel across mountainous roads to the home of the exiled Dalai Lama. Visit to the Norbulingka Institute, which features beautiful gardens and offers a range of on-site workshops and the chance to see the creation of traditional Tibetan art.
A former hill station of the British army, Dalhousie is now a major settlement for Tibetan refugees. Wander the narrow lanes or sit back with a spicy chai and enjoy the fantastic views of the Himalaya.
Trek through forests and cross bubbling creeks to rest overnight in alpine Khajjiar.
Follow shepherd tracks down to the cliff-top town of Chamba. Experience traditional life as a guest of a local family in their mountainside farm.
Visit the Golden Temple in the middle of a sacred lake. Travel to the Wagah border to witness the pomp and ceremony of the daily flag ceremony.
Head back to the bustling capital of India for one final curry.

Important notes

1. This trip starts in Delhi on day one at 1pm (2012) or on day one at 6pm (2013)

From the 20th January 2013, the itinerary will no longer be going to Dalhousie, Khajjiar or the Chamba Valley, and will include Haridwar and Rishikesh instead. Tours will now depart on selected Sundays rather than selected Mondays. Please note the departure on the 7th Jan 2013 will remain the same as the 2012 itinerary.
The itinerary will be 13 days (instead of 15 in 2012) as follows:

Days 3-4 Shimla (and the toy train)
Day 5 Mandi
Days 6-7 Dharamsala/McLeod Ganj
Days 8-9 Amritsar
Days 10-11 Rishikesh
Days 12-13 Delhi
