Days 1-2 Delhi

Day 5 Agra

Haggle with locals in Varanasi's colourful bazaars before a flight back to the capital. Back in Delhi, perhaps unwind in the grounds surrounding Humayun's Tomb or head to bustling Connaught Place for some shopping.

Days 12-13 Kathmandu

Welcome to the capital of Nepal, Kathmandu. Head to Durbar Square to admire its delightful architecture and observe city life. Step back in time on a tour Bhaktapur, a small feudal city where cobblestone streets wind between temples, courtyards, shrines and wells.

Day 14 Bandipur

This charming mountain town, surrounded by orange orchards, has views to the north over the foothills towards Tibet and southern views that hint at the River Ganges. Take an afternoon walk to meet locals and admire traditional Newari houses with slate roofs and carved wooden windows.

Day 15 Begnas

Serene and picturesque, the lakes of Begnas and Rupa are surrounded by thick forest echoing with birdcalls. Discover peaceful mountain trails, go fishing, explore Begnas Lake by boat and unwind with an Ayurvedic massage. Those feeling a little more energetic may like to unwind with some traditional yoga exercises.

Days 16-17 Pokhara

Situated on the shores of Nepal's second-largest lake, Pokhara has a relaxed ambience. Meet local carpet weavers and craftspeople, hike to the World Peace Pagoda or relax in a cafe. Support a great cause by purchasing souvenirs or gifts at the Tibetan refugee camp.

Days 18-19 Chitwan National Park

Safari through the tangled jungle of Chitwan National Park. In canoes, glide down a river that is one of the last remaining habitats of gharials - fish-eating crocodiles that have been hunted close to extinction. Gain an insight into local life on a village tour, visit an elephant breeding centre and keep an eye out for rhinos and the elusive Bengal tiger.
