Cycling through Rajasthan Itinerary

Travel to India and visit Delhi. Bright colours, seductive smells and the mayhem of Indian life makes Delhi a fascinating city in which to begin this adventure. Take to the broad avenues of New Delhi by bike, then venture into the narrow maze of streets in Old Delhi. Enjoy an overnight train to Jodhpur.

Visit Jodhpur and spend the afternoon cycling the city, exploring the Mehrangarh Fort and admiring the charming, blue houses that surround the rocky hill.

Travel by bike and bus to Ranakpur and visit the stunning 15th-century Jain temple. From here, pedal through the amazing Aravalli foothills before arriving in Udaipur, the ‘Pearl of Rajasthan’. Cycle around this romantic city as the shimmering lake reflects a golden sunset.

Take on the winding, rural roads through the hot, dusty Indian countryside to reach Kumbhalgarh, where a magical palace and ancient temple await.

A desert ride to Pushkar passes through the Snake Hills and along secluded back roads. Stretch legs on an optional climb to the hilltop temple to watch the sun disappear behind this holy town.

Continue to the 'Pink City' of Jaipur, the buzzing capital of Rajasthan. Disappear into the kaleidoscope of colours on an adventure through this impressive city. See the grand Hawa Mahal, or 'Palace of the Winds', and the splendid Amber Palace, rising majestically above a lake. Explore the old residence of the Maharaja, or wander through palatial courtyards.

Returning to rural India, head to Sariska National Park. Take an exciting game drive and be on the lookout for leopards and jungle cats.

Cycle towards to Bharatpur, home to a World Heritage listed bird sanctuary. With more than 360 species of birds calling the park home, this area is a delight to explore by bike.

Ride to the deserted Mughal kingdom of Fatehpur Sikri. Perfectly preserved since the 16th century, this is a fantastic glimpse of India’s past. Travel on to Agra, where the magical Taj Mahal awaits. With ornate carvings and bejewelled marble, this is the ultimate monument to love.
