Since there are potholes and cobblestones in many European cities, it's recommended that you leave any wheelie bags/cases at home and bring a backpack instead.
Summer temperatures can be extreme in many of the regions visited (over 40°C), which can be uncomfortable. It’s important to use sun protection, wear layers to combat the heat and drink plenty of water. Please carefully consider the time of the year you wish to travel and your suitability to that season.

This trip covers a lot of territory in a short time. It worked for us to get the feel of these 6 countries, to have appetites whetted for return visits if possible. It was worth the money. Only Korce, Albania, was a disappointment; that day could have been better spent somehow, and, although acceptable, the hotel and breakfast were less satisfactory than all of the other accommodations. This is not a complaint, but rather a suggestion to come up with an alternative to Korce.
