Arrive on the resplendent shores of Mykonos, an island that blends mythology and modernity amid one of the world’s most naturally beautiful landscapes. Get this Greece sailing adventure underway with a jaunt to Syros and check out the ancient village of Ano Syros. Why not end the day with a meal at one of the island’s many waterfront tavernas before settling in on board and falling asleep to the sound of gentle waves.
Days 2-3 Naxos
Sail across the Bay of Gaidharos to Naxos, stopping for a refreshing dip and bite to eat en route. Spend time exploring the evocative old quarter, get active with some water sports or learn of the region’s colourful history at the Archaeological Museum. Take the chance to unwind on the beach, chat with locals and perhaps join them for a shot of kitron – a traditional lemon liquor.
Day 4 Small Cyclades
After another morning spent at sea, drop anchor and disembark on Small Cyclades. Discover charming fishing villages where the locals enjoy a simple lifestyle.
Day 5 Amorgos
Head across to Amorgos, better known as the backdrop for the film The Big Blue. Explore cobbled pathways that thread their way through small villages, stopping to enjoy warm local hospitality. Pay a visit to the cliff top Moni Hozoviotissis Monastery and, in free time, why not settle in at a waterfront cafe to watch the sun set beyond this incredible landscape.
Day 6 Ios
Sail to Paradisi Beach for a spot of lunch and swimming before continuing to the party hub of Ios. After a day spent exploring ancient ruins or blissing out on the beach, perhaps take in another mind-blowing sunset from the hilltop Church of the Virgin. Once the light fades from the sky, perhaps join the crowds for a night on the tiles.
Days 7-8 Santorini
Make tracks to the stunning stretch of white sand that is Manganari Beach before wrapping up this sailing adventure on Santorini. Before the tour is over, take in more beachside spoils or historic attractions or, if time permits, stay a few extra days to experience all Santorini has to offer.
