Days 1-2 Berlin

Discover why artists, designers and musicians continue to make the pilgrimage to Berlin, a city as famous for its progressive arts scene as for its tumultuous history. Delve into the Berlin's provocative past while wandering the lush pathways of the Tiergarten or by visiting the crumbling remains of the Berlin Wall. Gain a deeper insight into Berlin's history on a visit to the Checkpoint Charlie Museum.

Days 3-4 Amsterdam

Travel to Amsterdam and take to the streets by bicycle to discover a city that once inspired Rembrandt and Van Gogh, and continues to enchant visitors with its canals, bridges and parks. In free time, perhaps pick out some fresh blooms at the Bloemenmarkt, visit the wartime hiding place of Anne Frank or head to the Rijksmuseum to marvel at 'The Night Watch' and other artistic masterpieces.

Days 5-6 Bruges

With its picturesque waterways, cobbled lanes, delicious waffles and dazzling array of beers, this 'Venice of the North' beckons. Take it all in on a boat ride through its winding canals. Later there will be plenty of time to sample pralines from a local Bruges chocolatier, shop for Flemish lace or just hang out in the city square and watch the world go by.

Days 7-8 Paris

Make time to walk along the Champs Elysees to the Arc de Triomphe - a Parisian experience not to be missed! Enjoy the view from the Eiffel Tower, count the gargoyles adorning the Notre Dame Cathedral or shop up a storm at the decadent Galeries Lafayette - there's a bounty of amazing attractions in Paris.

Days 9-10 Tours

Travel to the Loire Valley, a region renowned for its art, history and medieval houses. Cycle to the castle at Villandry and enjoy its manicured Renaissance gardens.

Day 11 Bordeaux

Step back in time and stroll through Bordeaux's World Heritage listed old town. The energetic can climb the 243 steps in the tower of the Saint-Michel Basilica. Treat taste buds to local wine and enjoy some of Bordeaux's world-famous produce.

Days 12-14 Dordogne Region

Head to the Dordogne region and soak up its relaxed pace of life. Take to kayaks to explore the striking limestone scenery.

Days 15-16 Pyrenees

Hike in the verdant mountains of the Pyrenees to take in crisp air and breathtaking views.

Days 17-18 San Sebastian

Cross the border and head to San Sebastian, one of the most sun kissed cities in Spain. Walk up Mt Urgull for fantastic views over the town. Enjoy the sun at La Concha before heading to the Parte Vieja, which boasts perhaps the most bars per square metre in all of Spain.

Days 19-20 Segovia

Visit Alcazar, a fairytale castle perched on a cliff. With turrets galore, this medieval royal residence will take you back in time.

Days 21-22 Madrid

Between stunning architecture, superb museums and spectacular nightlife, the Spanish capital is a heady experience. Visit Madrid's Reina Sofia to view the Picasso and Miro exhibitions or admire the masterpieces in the Museo del Prado.
