This trip covers quite a bit of ground, and so there are some longer travelling days on public and private buses, as well as an overnight train. Many of these journeys offer a great chance to interact with the locals, soak up the scenery, and even catch up on a book, but make sure you are prepared for the journeys.
There is an included sea kayaking trip in Krabi, in double kayaks. The water is usually calm through the beautiful mangrove forests. Please let your leader know if you have any concerns about participating.
This itinerary travels through multiple countries, each with their respective customs and National Holidays. Please see the 'Climate and Seasonal Information' section for more details.
There is a village homestay with a family on this trip, in simple multi-share accommodation where conservative dress is recommended. There a few better ways to get to know a country and its people.
1. A Single Supplement to have your own room is available on this trip and excludes nights 2 (overnight sleeper train), and 5 (homestay) where you will be in shared accommodation.

This tour offers many interesting contrasts between different countries, and contrasts between forests, beaches and cities. It involves travelling significant distances, and the buses in Thailand are quite small, so if you are a little claustrophobic like me, try to find about more about the travel arrangement and how many people will be on the bus (8 in one small mini bus as in our case was too many in my opinion). The tour offers a good contrast of activities. I enjoyed in particular staying in the Khao Sok National Park, and the cities of Penang and Melaka. I suggest you book extra nights in Bangkok and Singapore for this trip as they are explored very briefly in the tour. I suggest you find a more comfortable hotel in Singapore or at least see if you can book a bigger room with a window!!

If you (like me) want to travel the world, but would rather not do it alone, intrepid provides a great opportunity. Not only can you explore far off places, but you get to meet some great new people and learn from them.
