Camping in the Serengeti National Park with no barriers between you and the animals is amazing, but it's important to heed the safety advice of your leader. You'll be briefed on arrival.
Our purpose-built overland vehicles allow for excellent game viewing, equipped with large sliding windows. They have no air-conditioning, however, so they can get dusty and hot at times.
The going can be slow over the long distances and often bumpy roads. A little bit of patience will go a long way towards your enjoyment of this beautiful land!
The first 8 days of your trip is participatory camping trip, so team spirit is key. You'll be expected to help out with camp setup, food preparation and cleaning.
You'll need a good level of fitness for the Kili section of this trip. The distances may not be long, but the altitude makes it much harder than your average uphill hike. The going will be slow as your body adjusts.
Tried and tested all-purpose hiking equipment is required. Temperatures at night can get very low when you're above 3,500 metres, so warm clothing and a sleeping bag are essential. You can hire this equipment if need be.
Your safety comes first. Our experienced guides will monitor each passenger for any signs of acute mountain sickness. If you show any signs, you'll descend immediately with a guide.
Hiking for several days without a shower can be tough – be prepared for some dust and dirt. A mask, wet wipes and face washer may become your best friends!
The huts along the Marangu route sleep between 4 and 12 passengers and will be mixed-gender.

Unforgettable adventure - camping with wild animals outside our tents in the Serengeti, visiting Ngorongoro crater and a once in a lifetime trek to the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro. One of the best trips I have ever taken - animals, culture and a physical challenge. Tanzania should be a priority on your travel bucket list!
