Japan is a peaceful, paradise. If you wish to active then consider the Cycle Japan trip. You visit the main cities (Osaka, Kyoto and Tokyo) however it is the other places that you visit that are extraordinary, such as the Noto Peninsula. The Bikes allow one to explore at a good pace. The riding itself is 30 - 70 ks per day, on well marked trails and roads. Drivers in Japan are extremely respectful toward bike riders. In the cities one can cover territory quickly on a bike and earn a good appetite for the delicious food of Japan. The Ryokans (accommodation), are good fun and the Onsens (shared bathrooms) are a great experience. I have never been cleaner, than in a Japanese Onsen. Great trip !!
