The African wild comes alive at sunrise, so there will be some early starts. The thrill of spotting your first lion or rhino will be well worth any loss of sleep!
Our purpose-built overland vehicles allow for excellent game viewing, equipped with large sliding windows. They have no air-conditioning, however, so they can get dusty and hot at times.
The going can be slow over the long distances and often bumpy roads. A little bit of patience will go a long way towards your enjoyment of this beautiful land!
This is a participatory camping trip, so team spirit is key. You'll be expected to help out with camp setup, food preparation and cleaning.

This trip was great. The highlight was Zimbabwe - what a gem. We explored places I never would've visited on my own (like Hwange and Matobo National Parks which were my two favourite days). Only downside, there is a lot of time on the bus. I expected that looking at the other reviews but there is a few days where we were on the road all day and it felt like the towns we stopped in were just "fillers" rather than actual attractions worth visiting, as the trip notes would have us believe (like Blouberg!). It's still a worthwhile trip though for those short on time.

This is a great trip for people wanting an African experience. It covers a lot of ground but visits some interesting places and gives a good overall view of southern Africa. The wildlife is not as numerous as Eastern Africa and I would suggest travellers want to see a large number of animals consider Easter Africa instead. This trip is great if you want to see a number of different parks, including Kruger National Park as well as Victoria Falls.
