Welcome to Ecuador! Get to know Quito, Ecuador’s charming capital, on an orientation walk with your leader. Small though Quito may be, its Old Town is filled with historic buildings and more than 30 churches. Stroll along Quito’s oldest street, Calle La Ronda, and experience the city’s best nightspots all in the one place.
Travel into the Amazon Jungle for an unforgettable stay with a local family in the upper Amazon Basin, a location that, due to its proximity to the Andes, is rich in tropical, humid forests - one of the most biologically diverse regions in the world. Here you learn about the life cycle of some of the hundreds of colorful species living in the surrounding rainforest, visit to a local indigenous family to find out about their culture and traditions. Take guided walks through the Amazon’s forests and learn how local plants are used for medicinal purposes.
A relatively recent mecca for international travellers, Banos is a small town nestled in a lush green valley and is the perfect base for exploring Ecuador's great outdoors. Plummeting waterfalls, pools of natural hot springs, a smorgasbord of adventure activities on offer and a relaxed general vibe all combine to make this little town a truly special place.
The city of Cuenca exudes a distinctive old-world air and is possibly the most attractive city in Ecuador. Home to many well-preserved 16th- and 17th-century buildings, it was declared a World Heritage site in 1999.
Return to Quito for one more night in town.
