Day 1 Quito

Welcome to Ecuador! Get to know Quito on a leader-led orientation walk. Although small, Quito’s Old Town is filled with historic buildings and boasts more than 30 churches and numerous museums to explore. Stroll down Quito’s oldest street, Calle La Ronda, and experience the city’s best nightspots all in one place.

Days 2-4 Amazon Jungle

Travel into the jungle to an authentic Amazon lodge. Nestled in an area that forms part of the upper Amazon Basin, the homestay is surrounded by abundant vegetation. A jungle walk presents the ideal opportunity to discover the local flora and fauna, and a great chance to learn about their culture and traditions.

Days 5-6 Banos

A mecca for international travellers, Banos is situated in a valley of waterfalls and hot springs and is a great base for exploring the great Ecuadorian outdoors. Lush, green hills, warm waters, adventure activities, a relaxed town atmosphere and good food all help to make for a wonderful Banos experience.

Day 7 Alausi

Travel to Alausi, a city rich in architecture and history with the majority of its houses more than 100-years-old.

Days 8-9 Cuenca

Jump aboard lovely old carriages and embark on the spectacular Devil’s Nose train ride, which travels down the Naris del Diablo and back. The city of Cuenca has a distinctive old-world air and is possibly the most attractive city in Ecuador. Home to many 16th- and 17th-century buildings, the city’s history is well preserved, earning Cuenca the honour of being listed as a World Heritage site.

Days 10-11 Otavalo

Discover Otavalo, a town nestled in beautiful surroundings and famous for its market – one of the most important indigenous markets in all of Ecuador. Villagers from all around descend on the town once a week to sell everything from handmade goods to livestock, fruit and vegetables.

Days 12-13 Quito

Enjoy a final chance to explore Quito before this Best of Ecuador trip comes to an end. Perhaps stroll the streets and take some photos of the Old Town, or relax with a well-earned drink in a stylish bar or cafe in the commercial area.
