From Quito, discover the wonders of the Galapagos Islands on a sailing adventure on the Nemo III

Nowhere does nature like the Galapagos – fact. Dolphins breach the waters around Isla Genovesa, giant tortoises lumber the misty Santa Cruz highlands, land iguanas scamper across rocky volcanic coastlines and sea lions loll about on sandy shores looking as if they're without a care in the world. And for the most part, they are. Having evolved in an environment largely free of land-based predators, the creatures of the Galapagos are more apt to treat visitors with inquisitiveness than fear or hostility – making for some truly incredible encounters. Taking in the archipelago's remote northern islands, this trip will bring you into close quarters with all the Galapagos all-stars, be they feathered, furred, scaled, shelled or finned.

  • Watch marine iguanas scuttling across the sands of Las Bachas
  • Visit a breeding colony for herons and frigatebirds on Darwin Beach
  • Learn about the archipelago's geological history
  • Listen out for the knocking of woodpeckers in the unique Scalesia cloud forest
  • Size up giant tortoises at Urvina Bay
  • Look for pink flamingos in the lagoons of Punta Moreno
  • Snorkel in the company of sea lions off Isla Fernandina
  • Pick your way through old pirate detritus in Buccaneer Cove
