Enjoy a drink in one of Quito’s modern cafes or bars, or take a stroll around the charming Old Town, where local history and ancient architecture line the streets. Get to know the rest of the group in the evening before setting off on the Galapagos Adventure cruise the next morning.

After flying to Baltra and a swift transfer to the boat, things get off to a thrilling start as travellers are treated to the wildlife of Las Bachas beach on the island of Santa Cruz. Marine iguanas live alongside pink flamingos, while the beach itself plays host to a major egg-laying site for the islands’ sea turtles.

Admire active volcanoes, brightly coloured flamingos and incredible lava formations on Isabela Island.

See the lava cactus growing in seemingly inhospitable terrain on Fernandina Island and keep an eye out for flightless cormorants.

Walk along the beautiful Espumilla Beach, and visit the peculiar natural monument of Caleta Bucanero (Buccaneer Cove).

Take time to spot some of the Galapagos’ famed birdlife, including masked boobies, finches and even the beautiful frigatebirds, before making tracks back to Quito.
