Day 1 Quito

Begin your Galapagos adventure in Ecuador's ever-changing capital. Spend free time traipsing the cobbled streets of Quito's Old Town or get involved in the lively nightlife of the increasingly popular modern suburbs.

Day 2 Las Bachas

Fly to the Galapagos Islands head straight for the white sand beaches of Santa Cruz Island, a nesting site for the Pacific green turtle. Coral and rock formations make for world class snorkelling opportunities, an insight into the colourful underwater paradise that is unique to this part of the world.

Day 3 Isabela Island south coast

Explore Isabela Island, the largest landmass in the Galapagos Archipelago. With the greatest expanse of beaches and idyllic turquoise waters, Isabela offers pristine swimming spots as well as the perfect opportunity to spot blue-footed boobies, penguins, crabs and marine iguanas.

Day 4 Isabela Island west coast

Visit the black lava flows and brackish lagoons of Punta Marino, a haven for the Galapagos' extensive birdlife population. Trek through mangrove forests and the volcanic terrain to get elevated views of an astounding landscape.

Day 5 Fernandina & Isabela Islands

Walk through lava cacti at the base of the La Cumbre volcano before jumping in panga boats to float close to volcanic sea cliffs and swim with sea turtles, penguins and marine iguanas.

Day 6 Santiago Island

Pay a visit to Caleta Bucanero, a stunning natural monument created through years of sea erosion, which used to be a popular pirate hang out. See the black sand beach of Port Egas and keep an eye out for sea lions and fur seals off the coast.

Day 7 Rabida Island/Sombrero Chino

Journey to the tiny island of Rebida, where indigenous species roam in splendid isolation, free of any introduced threats. Volcanic activity has moulded the landscape into a vibrant array of red sands and scarlet cliffs. Spot flamingos and pelicans en masse in the inland lagoon.

Day 8 Santa Cruz Island

Head to Santa Cruz, home of the Charles Darwin Research Station. Here there is the opportunity to get up close and personal with the famous giant tortoises, including Lonesome George, the last remaining member of his sub-species. Afterwards, trek into the highlands and wind through misty forests on the way to inactive volcanic peaks.

Day 9 Black Turtle Cove/Quito

Travel to the red mangrove wetlands of Black Turtle Cove and take a dip in the peaceful waters. The area is a nursery for rays and Galapagos sharks, making it ideal for spotting some of the larger marine creatures.

Day 10 Quito

Return to Quito and enjoy a final breakfast with new friends before the trip comes to an end. Perhaps stay some extra nights to get the most out of the culturally rich Ecuadorian capital.
