Complete Galapagos - Itinerary A Summary

Add to Shortlist

Day 1 Quito

Quito is a cultured city with a wonderous Old Town, a dynamic nightlife and atmospheric streets showcasing Ecuadorian life in all its splendour.

Day 2 Baltra/Isla Santa Cruz

The archipelago's main airport is on Isla Baltra - the gateway to the Galapagos. Located on the north shore of Isla Santa Cruz, the beautiful beaches of Las Bachas have particularly soft sand and the nearby rocks provide great snorkelling.

Day 3 Genovesa

Genovesa is a remote island of abundant beauty with varying landscapes and wonderful wildlife, including a trio of boobies - masked, blue-footed and the rare red-footed.

Day 4 Isla Santiago/Isla Santa Cruz

Sitting on Isla Santiago's eastern coast, Bahia Sullivan's 100-year-old lava flow forms a black carpet of intricate markings and patterns, where iguanas and Sally Lightfoot crabs roam.

Day 5 Isla Santa Cruz

Isla Santa Cruz is home to the Charles Darwin Research Station which offers visitors their best chance for close-up encounters with giant tortoises.

Day 6 Isla Isabela

The largest island in the archipelago, Isla Isabela was formed by five giant volcanic craters, all of which are still considered active.

Day 7 Isla Fernandina

Isla Fernandina's north-east tip, Punta Espinosa, is a narrow ledge of lava and sand where visitors can see lava cacti and flightless cormorants among the stark volcanic landscape.

Day 8 Isla Santiago

Isla Santiago features some of the most idyllic locations in the archipelago, including Espumilla Beach, Buccaneer Cove and the black sands of Puerto Egas.

Day 9 Isla Daphne/Baltra/Quito

Isla Daphne is a lovely place to do some bird spotting - see masked boobies, finches and even the beautiful frigate birds with their vibrant red pouches.

Day 10 Quito

Stretched out along a central Andean valley under the gaze of Volcan Pichincha, Quito is one of the most attractive cities in South America.
