Add to Shortlist

Quito is a cultured city with a wonderous Old Town, a dynamic nightlife and atmospheric streets showcasing Ecuadorian life in all its splendour.

The Highlands of Santa Cruz are home to the unique Scalesia cloud forest where you will find different species of Darwin finches and possibly the world famous woodpecker.

Day 3 North Seymour & Isla Mosquera

The walking trail along Isla North Seymour's rocky coast passes colonies of blue-footed boobies and magnificent frigate birds, who share the same nesting grounds on the island. The small sandy island of Mosquera is a picturesque spot to relax on the beach and watch Sally Lightfoot crabs looking for food among the rocks and tide pools.

The peaceful waters of Black Turtle Cove - a mangrove wetland on the north coast of Isla Santa Cruz - are a wonderful place to see green turtles, Galapagos sharks and abundant birdlife.

One of the archipelago's most striking islands, Isla Rabida has fascinating indigenous wildlife, unique red-sand beaches and a saltwater lagoon where flamingos can often be seen.

Located on the north shore of Isla Santa Cruz, the beautiful beaches of Las Bachas have particularly soft sand and the nearby rocks provide great snorkelling. Located in north-eastern Santa Cruz, Punta Carrion is a shallow and protected cove with plentiful marine life, ideal for snorkelling and swimming.

The largest island in the archipelago, Isla Isabela was formed by five giant volcanic craters, all of which are still considered active.

A highlight of any Galapagos tour Isla Floreana is rich in natural wonders and wildlife, including seabirds such as boobies, pelicans and frigates. Discover the quirky maritime history of Post Office Bay. Snorkel at the famous Devil's Crown and discover the quirky maritime history of Post Office Bay.

Isla Santa Cruz is home to the Charles Darwin Research Station The station's visitor centre and museum are essential stops for anyone interested in the archipelago's natural and human history, and keen to learn more about conservation efforts to preserve the unique ecosystems of the Galapagos. It also offers visitors their best chance for close-up encounters with giant tortoises.

Quito's impressive Old Town is full of picturesque streets and historic buildings - there are more than 30 churches to explore, as well as fascinating museums and lively plazas.
