  • Taste wine beneath a castle in Budapest

Kick off the adventure in rowdy Munich. Saunter through the historic city gates, be dazzled by the crown jewels at Residenz and inhale crisp air in the urban greenery of Englischer Garten. When gripped by thirst, head to a beer hall for frothy refreshments.
Cross the border into the Czech Republic. Travel to Prague where astounding architectural accomplishments, extraordinary history and a world-famous jazz scene create an irresistible atmosphere. Visit Prague Castle and learn of the kings, emperors and presidents who have ruled the country from within its walls. Traipse through magical crooked streets in the Old Town to find restaurants in vaulted cellars, or check out Frank Gehry's controversial Dancing House building, modelled on Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. Architecture buffs will revel in the sheer range of styles scattered throughout the city - everything from Gothic and Renaissance to cubist and avant-garde.
Discover the Bohemian charms of Cesky Krumlov. Be enchanted by this fairytale town while strolling its cobblestone laneways and admiring its lovely, history-laden buildings. During the warmer months, cycle through tiny hamlets in the surrounding lush countryside. Perhaps take an optional tour of the impressive castle, or sample the finest brews at a local brewery.
Travel across the border into Austria and absorb the golden splendour of Vienna. Get acquainted with the city by moseying alongside the Wein River. Encounter stylish urban spaces and leafy green parks, marvel at the Gothic spires of St Stephen's Cathedral and the majestic grandness of Hofburg Palace, and indulge in Austrian fare at a traditional restaurant. Art aficionados can admire major works by Schiele, Klimt and Kokoschka at the Leopold Museum, or roam the marbled halls of Belvedere and Sisi to glimpse other European masterpieces.
Arrive in Hungary's lively capital. Uncover the contrasting halves of Budapest - the rolling green hills of Buda and the grid-like layout of Pest - divided by the River Danube. Explore the Castle District, gaze up at Communist heroes in Statue Park or investigate the numerous museums and galleries throughout the city. Enjoy wine-tasting in an atmospheric stone cellar beneath Buda Castle before farewelling this central European adventure.
