Day 1 Split

Arrive in Croatia early to explore the many sights in this busy centre of the Dalmatian Coast. Visit Split's impressive Diocletian's Palace with its sprawling Roman-style basements, wander through the Temple of Jupiter or park up at a streetside cafe to observe the locals.

Day 2 Plitvice Lakes/Zadar

Head north to Plitvice Lakes National Park. Nestled among striking mountains, pristine Plitvice boasts some of the most spectacular scenery in Croatia. Later, swap this ethereal beauty for the atmospheric harbour town, Zadar, best known for its mesmerising sea organ and Sun Salutation sound and light show. Don’t miss the well-preserved Roman ruins either.

Day 3 Pag Island

Journey over to Pag Island and get your teeth into some of the island’s famous paški sir – sheep cheese with a sharp, tangy flavour. Cycle over the gentle slopes and moon-like karst formations or venture out to Lun, the northernmost tip of the island to walk amid some of the only remaining wild olive trees in the region.

Days 4-5 Pula

Conjure scenes of battle on a visit to Pula’s Roman Amphitheatre, relish a taste of nostalgia in the Old Town and perhaps encounter treasured relics in the Archaelogical Museum. To truly appreciate the enduring nature of this town, follow the Roman walls on the eastern boundary, passing through the Triumphal Arch of Sergius.

Days 6-8 Bled

Cross the border into Slovenia and travel into the Julian Alps. Take in the mountainous backdrop, picturesque lake and impressive cliff-top fortress, which all combine to make Bled such a wonderful place to visit. Perhaps cycle around Lake Bled's shoreline, row a boat out to the island or hike through the exceptional Vintgar Gorge. Then, why not celebrate the end of a remarkable journey with a final group meal.
