Day 1 Rincon de la Vieja
Arrive in Costa Rica and travel into the lush Rincon de la Vieja National Park.

Days 2-3 Rincon de la Vieja/Manuel Antonio NP
Rise early to enjoy a hike through the Rincon’s astonishing volcanic landscape, home to no less than nine eruptive vents within a 15 km wide caldera. Absorb the bold beauty of mud pools, clear-water rivers and cascading waterfalls, perhaps enjoying a refreshing swim along the way. Then, make tracks to the township of Manuel Antonio and venture into another of Costa Rica’s superb national parks, this time in a heavenly beachside location, overlooking the boundless Pacific Ocean. Try to spot some of Manuel Antonio’s resident wildlife species, including monkeys, iguanas and brightly coloured toucans.

Days 4-5 La Fortuna/Arenal National Park
Discover the charm of La Fortuna at the gateway to the Arenal National Park. In free time, enjoy a waterfall hike or visit a nearby hot springs. Then, venture out into the national park in the shadow of the magnificent Arenal Volcano, feeling the power of this volcanic terrain underfoot.

Days 6-8 Monteverde
Stop to visit local artisan villages on the road to Monteverde. Notice the vegetation change from tropical landscape to dense cloudforest along the way. Set off to explore this rich natural habitat, home to more than 100 mammal species, 400 bird species and 1,000 amphibian species. While here, enjoy fun for the whole family in the great outdoors with optional pursuits like a tree canopy walk or river rafting, or the popular ‘Sky Trek’ zip line through the trees.
