hall of fame honour for sally
Last week Intrepid had an extremely loud and fun night for its long term staff – 20 people who each have over 10 years of service gathered in Melbourne, Australia, for an unbelievably noisy dinner (this lot can talk!). Co-founders, Darrell Wade and Geoff ‘Manch’ Manchester, also made the second induction into the Intrepid Hall of Fame, recognising Sally Goldstraw for her valuable contribution.
If you travelled with Intrepid in our early years, then you might remember the exuberant Sal. She was the companies second ever group leader, first Operations Manager and first management group member. Perhaps more importantly, Sally was instrumental in establishing our culture of responsible travel through her 10+ years in the business. Her passion, foresight and whacky sense of everything was as instrumental as Darrell and Manch in building Intrepid’s success in the first decade.
These days Sally is into art and bringing up kids in country Victoria – but her values and integrity are a legacy that will remain with Intrepid for many years to come. Thank you again Sal!

Congratulations Sally.I have fond memories of the first exploratory trip to Borneo. I chuckle when I think of our adventures at that time, and wonder how different travel might be currently.
