Arrive in the captivating city of Bogota. Embark on a walking tour to discover the colonial architecture, old churches, cosy cafes and electric streets of the city. Then take a gondola ride up Cerro de Monserrate to a 17th-century church that overlooks Bogota before spending the evening at your leisure.
Wander away the hours along the narrow streets and colourful stalls of sleepy Salento. Make sure to try the various trout dishes for which the town is famous.
Venture into Colombia's picturesque coffee-growing heartlands for a stay on a traditional coffee plantation. Learn the inside story of the industry that's long buoyed the country's economy and sample firsthand what all the fuss is about.
Hop aboard a public bus to Medellin. Known locally as the 'City of Eternal Spring', Colombia's second biggest city boasts pleasant temperatures year-round and has experienced something of a rebirth in recent years. Brimming with modernist architecture, impressive museums and lush botanical gardens, it's a vibrant city paired with a pulsating nightlife.
Wander around Cartagena's walled Old Town, peeking inside its candy-coloured buildings and spying the shady courtyards hidden within. Get a bird's-eye view from the top of Castillo de San Felipe de Barajas, or perhaps experience the therapeutic effects of a mud bath on a visit to a bubbling volcano. The nearby group of tiny coral islands and the stunning expanse of Playa Blanca (White Beach) reveal the hidden beauty of Colombia's Caribbean coast.
Sample a slice of seaside bliss far removed from the tourist crowds in stunning Tayrona National Park. Hike through the dramatic mountain scenery, verdant rainforest and jagged rocks for a swim at some of Colombia's most glorious beaches.
Travel along the Caribbean coast to the scenic Guachaca region. Choose from a wide range of adventure activities on offer or just kick back and take in the gorgeous ocean views from the hostel veranda.
Settle in among the quaint whitewashed villas and expansive cobblestone plazas of Colombia's best preserved colonial city. Don't miss out on a visit to the traditional farmers' market for the chance to snack on some local delicacies.
Resting among emerald, mist-shrouded mountains, the cosmopolitan streets of Bogota are sure to delight. Take a walk through the colourful laneways of the city's historic heart, La Candelaria. Boasting a wealth of cosy cafes and colonial churches, this is a neighbourhood full of surprises. For breathtaking views of this sprawling capital, head to the top of Montserrat where scenic mountain-top cafes offer an escape from the chilly Andean air.
