Dating back 2,000 years, the Great Wall was originally made of compacted earth and was envisaged as a way to keep out marauding nomads from the north. While this structure is beginning to show its incredible age, it is still remarkable to see these ancient ruins twisting their way across the countryside. Visit several reinforced and restored sections of the wall and take a guided walk along this monolithic structure. Travel at a leisurely pace and enjoy a picnic amid the breathtaking scenery of the Chinese countryside.
