Days 1-2 Luang Prabang
Explore the enchanting city of Luang Prabang, at the junction of the Mekong and Nam Khan rivers.

Days 3-4 Vang Vieng
Take the opportunity to go kayaking or river-tubing in Vang Vieng, or hire a mountain bike and set off to explore nearby caves and swimming holes.

Days 5-6 Vientiane
Travel to Laos's laidback capital, Vientiane, where French and Asian cultures collide. Explore the city from the back of a tuk-tuk, sip coffee in a cafe or slurp a bowl of steaming pho soup.

Day 7 Bush Camp
Say goodbye to Laos and travel across the Friendship Bridge into Thailand. Discover a remote region, well off the tourist trail, that offers unique insights into rural life.

Stop by the Khmer temple complex of Phi Mai. Travel onwards through rice fields and small communities with proud cultural heritages to a busy border town.

Days 9-11 Siem Reap/Angkor Wat
The riverside city of Siem Reap is the gateway to the magical Angkor Wat temples. Join a local guide to explore these impressive ruins and uncover the fascinating folklore that surrounds their history.

Days 12-13 Phnom Penh
Make tracks to Phnom Penh. Find graphic reminders of Cambodia's tragic history in the bone-chilling Tuol Sleng Museum and Choeung Ek.

In Battambang, crumbling French-colonial shopfronts along the river add elegance to the town. Visit the hillside site of Phnom Sampeau and admire its pagodas and cave shrines.

Return to Thailand, stopping to spend another night in Aranyaprathet.

Travel south from Bangkok, making tracks towards Khao Sok National Park and camping along the way.

Days 21-22 Khao Sok National Park
Travel into the verdant Khao Sok National Park. Spend a night in a rustic hut amid ancient gnarled rainforest trees. Explore this dense and mysterious jungle on foot before cooling off underneath a waterfall.

Days 23-25 Krabi/Ao Nang Beach
Sun-seekers will fall in love with Krabi's unspoilt beaches; the spectacular limestone cliffs will tempt avid rock climbers, while scuba fans can embark on a Krabi diving adventure.Perhaps take a day trip to stunning Phi Phi Island or just soak up the spoils of this island paradise.

Say farewell to Thailand's beaches and head to the border of Thailand and Malaysia.

Make tracks to Kuala Lumpur city and swap towering trees for towering skyscrapers. A fascinating blend of Malay, Chinese and Indian cultures, this city is full of life and is a foodie and shopper's paradise. There are lots of things to do in Kuala Lumpur - perhaps explore the Petronas Towers, slurp some noodles in Chinatown, climb the 272 steps to the Batu Caves or wander through the Bird Park.

Travel to Melaka, Malaysia's famous port town. Melaka's heritage architecture, delectable food and cultural mix of Portuguese and Malay makes it a fascinating place to explore.
