Days 1-2 Hong Kong

Unearth an elegant mix of culture and glamour. Spend time exploring this former British colony and observe the convergence of Eastern and Western cultures at every turn. Shop up a storm at Temple Street and Stanley Market, chow down a dim sum brunch, become spellbound by the treasures at the many museums or see the city lights on a night cruise around Victoria Harbour.

Days 3-4 Yangshuo

Take a relaxing boat ride down the Yangzi River. Admire the dramatic scenery and jagged walls of the Three Gorges before visiting the Yichang Dam - the largest hydro-electric project in the world.

Days 10-11 Shanghai

Discover this vibrant city’s eclectic style - which ranges from Art Deco to ultra-modern - on a walking tour of the historical areas. Head to the Bund district and the Yuyuan Bazaar. Visit the exquisite collection of Chinese artwork in the Shanghai Museum, saunter through the magnificent Yuyuan Gardens, savour some classic Shanghai dishes and be wowed by a dare-devil acrobatic performance from the world-famous Shanghai Acrobats.

Days 18-21 Beijing
