Days 5-8 Siem Reap/Angkor Wat

Wake early for a spectacular sunrise at Angkor Wat before raiding tombs like Lara Croft. World Heritage-listed site turned movie set, the mind-blowing symmetry and manpower that created this colossal kingdom is something to rival the pyramids and Petra in archaeological perfection. Sample Cambodia’s best-hidden street food and try a banquet of unusual delicacies. Then, join a Khmer cooking class to master classic dishes like amok trey (fish curry), mee kola (vegetarian noodles) and pleah (beef salad) while chatting to village locals. For some down time, Siem Reap has heaps on offer, so consider a Khmer massage or high tea at the Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor. For the more adventurous, grab a bike or kayak and head into the countryside for the day.
